Our Story

A Family Tradition of Caring for Animals

Our family has had a hobby farm dating back to 1963 back in Richmond, BC after immigrating to Canada from Croatia. We devote our time, care, and love to ensure our animals receive the best possible care and, most importantly, the chance to live their best lives. Every animal deserves a chance and our priority is to create a positive and lasting impact on the lives of these animals.

Rescue, Redemption, and a Second Chance

Our bunnies have all come into our care through a variety of paths: rescued from impending slaughter and taken in from individuals unable to provide them with the ideal care and life they deserve. As a family-run operation with four generations actively involved, we have dedicated ourselves to animal rescue for almost two decades.

A Personal Journey of Healing and Hope

Founded through a deeply personal journey shaped by grief, loss, and resilience, this mission was inspired by the powerful comfort and connection animals can bring during life’s most difficult moments. In times when words often fell short, the quiet presence of animals provided a sense of peace, companionship, and healing unlike anything else. Their ability to simply stay close and offer unconditional comfort revealed the extraordinary bond between humans and animals, and the profound impact that connection can have during difficult times.

At the heart of this work is a long-standing family tradition of rescuing animals from impending slaughter, a value passed down through generations with the belief that every animal deserves a second chance. Many of the animals welcomed into care arrived frightened, neglected, or uncertain. Through patience, compassion, and consistent care, they transformed into confident, happy, and trusting companions.

Witnessing that transformation revealed the extraordinary bond between humans and animals and the healing that can happen on both sides. That belief continues to guide everything this organization does today, creating meaningful experiences that bring comfort, connection, joy, and hope to others through the powerful bond between humans and animals. You never know what someone might be going through, but animals have this amazing ability to sense it, to connect, and to bring a kind of comfort and hope that’s hard to put into words.
