Why Animal-Assisted Visits?
“Research indicates that interacting with animals can increase feel-good hormones like oxytocin and dopamine, while reducing cortisol (TELUS Health, 2024).” There’s something incredibly special about the quiet, comforting presence of bunnies. They don’t judge, they don’t ask for anything—yet they know when someone needs a little extra love. Bunny therapy isn’t just a visit; it’s an opportunity to experience deep emotional connection, joy, and healing. Our bunny therapy visits start at $220, offering a gentle and comforting experience for those in need of a little extra joy.
For those struggling with stress, anxiety, grief, or loneliness, the simple act of petting a bunny can be incredibly soothing. Their soft fur, gentle nature, and calming energy can lower stress levels, ease anxious thoughts, and bring a sense of peace in ways that words often can’t. Studies have shown that animal-assisted therapy can reduce blood pressure, boost mood, and even help with emotional regulation—proving just how powerful these interactions can be¹.
But it’s more than science; it’s about the feeling. It’s about watching a child’s face light up with joy², seeing an elderly person in a care home smile for the first time in weeks³, or giving someone a moment of peace on a tough day. Bunnies have an incredible way of reaching people, offering unconditional comfort in a world that often feels overwhelming.
Studies show that animal-assisted activities, particularly those involving rabbits, can have a measurable impact on children’s self-esteem. By creating a sense of comfort and engagement, these interactions help children feel more confident in themselves. Stronger self-esteem at an early age also plays a key role in healthy development as children grow into adolescence (Kim, 2024).⁴ For children facing emotional or behavioural challenges, animal-assisted therapy can provide comfort and motivation beyond what traditional counselling alone offers. Research shows that planned interactions with animals can be an effective and compassionate complement to traditional counseling approaches (Jalongo, 2022).⁵ Bunny therapy is also beneficial for children and adults with disabilities, providing a sensory-friendly, comforting experience that fosters connection and emotional well-being.
Let us share the magic of these incredible animals with you—because sometimes, all it takes is a soft nuzzle to make a world of difference.

Meet the Little Therapists with Big Hearts
Each bunny has a gentle spirit and a special purpose: helping people feel a little lighter and a lot more loved. They may not speak, but they know how to listen—and love.

"The Farm Friends has been life changing for us. We live in a multi trauma and disability layered household. Spending time with animals is essential for mental health and having a mobile option takes stress out of the planning. Its fun, enriching and very peaceful which means so much to us. Julie is also so kind, compassionate, accommodating to different needs and wonderful to interact with. Very organized set up and tear down. In Spring/Summer its a monthly necessity at our place. Its brought us so much joy. Thank you Farm Friends!"

"Farm Friends is so amazing. They came our school to help our students to help alleviate student stress from AP Exams. Farm Friends brought our entire school community together. The animals touched many hearts of our students and staff. We have had many requests for Farm Friends to come back to our school for many other events. I will totally be requesting them again and highly recommend them. Thanks :) "

If you're considering bunny therapy for your next mental health day, here are some tips to keep in mind:
-
Be sure to do your part to follow the safety protocols from our bunny helpers to ensure the rabbits are well cared for and their needs are met.
-
Be gentle and patient when interacting with them.
-
Learn about rabbit behavior to understand their cues and needs.
-
Create a safe and calm environment for both you and the rabbits.
-
Respect the rabbits' boundaries – not all rabbits enjoy being held or cuddled.
It's important to note that The Farm Friends prioritizes the well-being and comfort of the all animals attending our sessions. The animals involved in these sessions are well-trained and accustomed to human interaction. We ensure that the animals are provided with a safe and stress-free environment. For the safety of our animals, we reserve the right to remove any individual from the area who is not handling the animals in a respectful manner, is unable to follow safety guidelines, or is uncooperative.
